How much more do men pay for car insurance than women?

Question: If a man and a woman are the ame age, same car, clean driving record, both live in the same city, and every other variable is the same. The only difference is their gender how much more would a man pay?

Answer: good question. I pay $19 (USD) a month for my auto insurance. I have a 2006 Nissan and a perfect driving record. Edit: I have an idea! How about if you fake a rate quote and give all details the same EXCEPT gender and see what the price difference is...

Do you find women only car insurance sexist?

Question: Personally I do. For a start their buisiness is based around the idea that women are safer drivers even though what gender you are does not affect your driving, also all of the TV adverts for this insurance have sexist comments in them. If it had been the other way round and these car insurances were exclusive to men there would have been protests and accusations of sexism but because typically women are the victims of sexism it has gone unnoticed.

Answer: Believe me, gender does make a difference to driving , as does age. the insurance companies are not in the business for the good of their health, they are out to make a healthy profit out of all of us. The reason that they can offer discounted insurance for us ladies is that we cost less, we actually have more accidents, but they tend to be minor and therefore cost less to settle. Youngsters have more and that's why it costs so much to insure if you are a young driver. If the TV ads have sexist comments in them, then I would complain to the people who regulate the ads, I agree that this bit isn't fair, but you need to get your voice heard in the right places.

Why is it ok to charge men more for car insurance than women?

Question: If statistically it were found that black people were more prone to get into accidents than whites, do you think insurance companies would charge black people more than white people. I think not! So why is it ok for them to be sexist?

Answer: It's a penis tax.

women want equal rights. then why have cheaper rates for women car insurance?

Question: women moan about equal rights. but they won't say anything about women only car insurance because they will be getting a good deal. if they want equal rights then get rid of this women only thing, and why should we open doors for them and let them go first ,

Answer: Becasue they have less accidents as they are not so prone to aggressive driving and risk taking. It's perfectly OK for an insurance company to base it's pricing on risk, that's how it works. I think the error lies in believing women want equal rights. They only want equal rights (quite justifiably and correctly) in those area of life where they are currently disadvantaged. However, I've yet to see many OFFERING equal rights in those areas where they are currently advantaged - e.g parenting rights, healthcare access, housing access and support.
