1st For Women Car InsuranceForum - Questions & AnswersWould someones 3rd party car insurance pay out if someone sued them?Question: A woman gave a friend a run every week, a couple of weeks ago they bumped into another car, there was no damage to either car. Her friend the passenger claimed she had whiplash, she was off work for 1 week and is now planning on suing driver. The driver only has 3rd party car insurance and was just wondering if her car insurance would pay out to passenger or would she have to pay out herself if claim goes through?Answer: That's what third party insurance is for. The passenger would be considered the third party and can sue the driver of the vehicle in which she was travelling. If there is negligence on the part of the driver and damages as a result then there could be a valid claim. xxR ![]() Can a car owner have 2 insurance policies on 1 car. If so, wouldn't both have to pay if an accident accured.Question: Wouldn't both insurance company have to pay me what the car is worth? When I was 18 a women hit me and her insurance company only paid what the car was worth. I figured, if I could have the car insured by two different insurance companies my car would be paid for in its entirety. Is this illegal and will it be beneficial for me? I know that there is insurance that is called (gap insurance) that you can get when you purchase a car and it will pay the remaining balance on the car. However, I don't want to walk away with no car and no money for my investment if I get into a car accident. What are your comments? Please, no opinions and no crazy comments. I appreciate all that answer and may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you indeed. I have read the response to the question above and i thank you for your time. But I have another question. Isn't legal to have two life insurance policies on one person? So, why not on a car? Correct me if I am wrong but please don't be a jerk when doing so. Treat others the way you would like to be treated!Answer: No, of course not. Insurance is meant to help put you in the same position you were in immediately prior to the accident. If you carried 2 policies, you would have a hard time getting either of them to pay, because each would say the other company is responsible. Putting duplicate claims in on 2 policies would actually be insurance fraud. The only time it is permissable to have 2 policies on the same vehicle is a transition between companies. If you have JoBlow Insurance and move to a state the company does not have a licence for, and you get JoSmith insurance, you will have 2 policies until JoBlow gets your signed cancellation. Of course, you would only get coverage from one policy if you had a claim in the transition. I am a licenced broker, registration agent, and driver licence issuer. ![]() So, car insurance for lady drivers will be going UP then thanks to the EU?Question: The European Court of Justice has just ruled that gender can no longer be taken into account when setting the cost of motor insurance. Did that little matter slip you by? http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2011/mar/01/women-drivers-insurance-subsidises-boyracers Now, come on fellas, we all make jokes about ladies driving, but it's all meant in good humour. Women are safe drivers after all, and they do have fewer accidents. Mrs Fox will tell you that bless her. ANYWAY: 1st point is, why put their insurance up anyway in the first place? 2, if they do put their insurance up, then they should 'average' the cost of everybody's insurance, and that should mean that men's insurance should come down then? Wont it? What do you think?Answer: The figure being quoted is that premiums will come down around 10% for men, and go up around 30% for women. Either way, it appears the insurers will still win. Then again, this is an ECJ ruling I can agree with, which makes a change. This coming from a man who, 2 months after passing his test, rolled an Austin Allegro into a ditch and subsequent stone wall and wrote it off, followed by a Maestro, into the same ditch and into the same stone wall, on the same spot, a year later. ![]() Car Insurance??? male and female?Question: ok, well after getting a quote for myself, then another one for me if i was a women, the difference was £1000.
