Gender inequality CAR INSURANCE!! why?

Question: Seriously why do guys have to pay more for car insurance compared to women? It is unfair. If this was the other way round, all the females will be complaining and protesting. Now obviously women expect men to bend over backwards for there so called 'rights'. Right i now most of the women who use yahoo answer come back will be 'Men cause more accidents'. Well in fact men do not proportionately cause more accidents, men have more accidents, but men drive proportionately far more than women at a given time 79% of of all cars being driven are by males, 71% of all accidents are by males. Same goes with young males (17-22), they tend to be the first to want to embrace there rights when they turn 17 to be able to drive an automobile. You could clearly use your imagination and see that the stats are true. In a traditional nuclear family who drives mostly? obviously the husband (male). How would women feel like if they lost the right to equal pay.. because of statistics that they tend to take more days off due to things like maternity leave.

Answer: Insurance companies engage in statistical discrimination. They do so because it's to their advantage to charge more for those who represent a higher financial risk or unknown risk. It's not their only means of price setting however. They'll charge more, when their market analysis indicates they can. This is standard supply and demand. Employers are not allowed to do the same. Which I think is the real interesting question: How come Insurance companies can discriminate based on real life statistics of risk, but employers can't? ~

If we really have "Gender Equality", why should us guys have to pay more for Car Insurance than women?

Question: Could you imagine if it were the other way around, and women had to pay higher rates than men? There'd probably be legislation in Congress to stop it as we speak!!! Answer: Statistically speaking, young men cause far more accidents than young women. It really rips off the young guys who drive well, though, which I why I think a case-by-case insurance policy would be better.

Since women have inferior driving skills compared to men should they pay more for car insurance?

Question: experts have done extensive research and confirmed that men drive better than women Obviously there are those exceptions , like the professional race care driver Danika Patrick(sp?), so if you are offended by this question you probably do suck at driving

Why should men care if women get paid LESS, if they don't give a DAMN about unreasonable car insurance for men?

Question: The whole argument with women when asked about how they feel about male car insurance: "too bad" "that's just how it is, deal with it" "men are irresponsible" "who cares not my problem" "statistics say most men can't drive as safely as women" So why should I care if women are getting paid less for the SAME job a man is doing since: Women are usually less productive than men Women want to be flirtatious in the workplace Women are always suing for sexual harassment Women have to call off to have kids or take care of kids. And I could just use all of the above: "too bad" "that's just how it is, deal with it" "women are irresponsible" "who cares not my problem" "statistics say most women can't work as efficiently as men" Since the insurance companies “feel� men are irresponsible based on statistics. Then men who have seen women consistently under perform ,compared to men, should just pay women less for the SAME amount of work. BTW the “women pay more for health insurance� argument is old and tired. Answer: Good point. I'm still an advocate of womens' rights though since not all women feel that way.
