Cheap Car Insurance Quote For Women

Forum - Questions & Answers

How come old people are charged cheap insurance?

Question: I cant believe the insurance quotes i am getting for being a new driver, but all of these old people who are absolutely loaded pay hardly anything when it seems to be them who crash the most as when I was learning to drive some old woman wrote my car off because of her own stupid fault. I see old people always on the side of the road with a smashed up car from going into a lamp post or central reservation. They should at least be charged the same amount as a 17 year old. Do you guys agree

Answer: The relationship between age and driving behavior has interested highway safety researchers and administrators for many years. It is generally acknowledged that the greatest risk of traffic crashes is among teenage drivers. Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers across the United States. For both men and women, drivers aged 16 to 19 years of age have the highest average annual crash and traffic violation rates of any other age group. I rang up Tesco Car Insurance today and they sent me away?

Question: Hello, I rang up Tesco Car Insurance today, this women spoke on the phone and her first question was asking for the policy number, and then I asked her a question why they increase my insurance and she said everywhere is the same, they are the cheapest, and then she told me to ring somewhere else to get a quote and then phone us back. Thats a good customer service. What do you guys think about this situation?

Answer: Tesco Insurance are brokers. All they do is put you with an insurance company, then claim commission for doing so. If you read through your documents, it should tell you who the insurance company is. It might save some money if you approach the company direct for a quote, either online or by telephone, as you will not then be paying commission to Tesco. It is okay to pay commission to a broker if they are giving you good customer service, but showing that they aren't really bothered about your business is not good customer service. I would always advise people to shop around at each renewal date as insurers constantly change their prices, and while Tesco may have been the cheapest in the past, they may not be the cheapest now. I would try a price comparison web site to get an idea what other companies are charging. If you get a better deal, take it. If not stick with Tesco. The person you dealt with is one of many employees and like everywhere else, there are good and bad employees. You can't assume that the company as a whole is a bad company to deal with based on your dealings with one member of staff. Next time, you could speak to another employee and get excellent customer service. I agree that the cost of insurance across the entire market has gone up though. Insurers make their money by investing. The country is in a financial mess at the moment and insurers are not making the profits on investments that they used to. The cost of car repairs, insurers operating costs and staff wages has also increased. All these increases have to be passed on to the customer.

Why did my car insurance go up instead of down after i turned 25?

Question: In November I turned 25 years old. I've always been told the two good things about turning 25 is that I can rent a car for cheaper and I will have cheaper auto insurance. I was excited about this. But when I turned 25, my insurance went up. When I turned 18, my insurance was $80 a mo. I have had insurance since then, I have nothing on my record (never had a speeding ticket, nothing). I've always payed bills on time, and since I was 23 I had full coverage. I've had the same car since I was 23 which is a newer model and nothing has changed with my driving info since I was 23. At age 23 and 24 my insurance went up to $130 a month with full coverage, the same car, nothing on my record, etc... But on my 25th birthday, I went in to renew my insurance. Now since I turned 25, my insurance went up to $210 a month. The woman who gave me my quote said she was unsure why my insurance went up instead of down since I had nothing on my record and I am a valuable customer. She was really confused and has never seen auto insurance go up instead of down when someone turns 25 unless they have something on their record. i payed the price but they are investigating it but as of right now, they don't have any answers. Does anyone know why it went up? I always pay for 6 months every time. I go to progressive right now and looked into other places. Look auto insurance is about the same and AAA is about $15 more.

Answer: yep. the most important thing here is this bit: <<i payed the price>> That's it. I now agree with them and why wouldn't I. Business is business.

Problems With Swinton's Car Insurance?

Question: I was insured with Swinton's for one of my 2 cars. When i bought my current car (Estate Car) they quoted me over £700 but i could not get it any cheaper cos a previous insurance company would not release my no claims bonus (Nearly 10 Years) after my car was hit by a works vehicle. I finally got my no claims back 2 months ago and Swinton's said they would amend my policy to include my no claims bonus. They told me my payments would come down from £45 a month to about £30 a month. I never got any letters or phone calls off Swinton's. I made a payment last month at their office as the direct debit had not gone through and i was told that it was my last payment and i was covered until next year. I got a letter from Swinton's yesterday telling me i owed nearly £100!! They wanted £51 payment on the policy as a final payment and another £45 cancellation fee. I paid it yesterday and i was told if i called them this morning they would set my policy back up and i would not have to pay a deposit. I phoned them this morning and the woman i spoke to told me they wanted £45 deposit and £55 per month direct debit!! They quoted me nearly £500 for a year which is a complete rip off. That incuded my no claim discount of nearly 10 years. She spoke to me like i was nothing. I asked why they wanted so much after she told me yesterday that i had no deposit to pay and she would not answer me she just kept saying 'Do you want the policy or not'. She was very rude to me and i am furious that she would not answer my questions. They seem to be making it up as they go along. I found another insurance company today who quoted me £350 for the full year with a £35 deposit. Can Swinton's do this? Who do i complain to?

Answer: swinto should be closed down.
