Can I buy a car with my G1?

Question: I have a G1 Ontario drivers license. I have come across a vehicle that I would like to purchase. I won't be driving it until I get my G2 license it will just sit in my driveway. Am I able to do this? How would transfer of ownership go if I have a G1 license? Does it need to be insured if it isn't being driven? PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

Answer: From a legal point of view. You can buy a house or even a giant truck, but you cannot drive it until you are qualified as per law. If you own a car and prefer not to drive it for whatever reason, you can stop paying insurance on it. Disclaimer: Still my knowledge is a life experience, not necessarily correct

Answer: You do not need a driver's license to own, register, or insure an automobile in the Province of Ontario. With a G1, you indeed can own, register and insure it. The plates are $72 a year (in you live in the City of Toronto there is an additional fee of $60 a year). Expect to pay a very high rate for insurance, if you can find anyone willing to even write the policy. Most likely you will be forced into the Facility Pool, the insurer of last resort, where drunks and others go.
