G1 License

How long does it take for the G1 license to be mailed to you?

Question: For anyone in Ontario, I want to take the G1 test but I'm going away for two months in less than a month with my family and wont be able to check my mail. If I take it next week or so, will the license card get mailed to me on time? How many weeks does it usually take? I dont want it to be jammed into my mailbox after I leave, as it will surely explode over the summer.

Is the expiration date on my temporary Ontario G1 license the exp date for just the temporary license?

Question: I got my temporary G1 license today(april 16th 2012) and I noticed that the expiration date on the temporary license is july 15th 2012. Is this date just for the temporary license or has their been a mistake?

Answer: Hello Donal, Congratulations on your G1! Don't worry! - the expiation date shown on the temporary licence is just that - it's good for three months which should cover the delivery time for your G1 licence card that will be good for 5 years. Hope this helps!
