Insuring A Car G1insuring a car G1Forum - Questions & AnswersCan you own,Register,Insure a car with your G1?Question: Just as the title says, I want to buy a car but I only have my G1, I know I wno't be able to drive it or anything, But ya.Answer: You do not need a driver's license to own, register, or insure an automobile in the Province of Ontario. With a G1, you indeed can own, register and insure it. The plates are $72 a year (in you live in the City of Toronto there is an additional fee of $60 a year). Expect to pay a very high rate for insurance, if you can find anyone willing to even write the policy. Most likely you will be forced into the Facility Pool, the insurer of last resort, where drunks and others go. ![]() Can I buy a car with ONLY a G1?Question: Can I buy, insure and register a car with ONLY a G1? Yeesh...Answer: you can buy and register one but as a new driver insurance will be expensive. ![]() |
