Male Vs Female Driving Statisticsmale vs female driving statisticsForum - Questions & AnswersMale vs. female car insurance?Question: So as a 16 year old male driver, I'm aware that car insurance rates for me are significantly higher than a same age female driver, just because of my gender. How are insurance companies able to do this, no matter how many statistics they have saying we crash more, speed more often, ect...? This is discrimination vs. my gender, and for all they know I could drive like a granny. Now consider this: if statistics showed that blacks were twice as likely to crash than whites, could insurance companies charge more? No way! The NAACP would be all over them. That would be unfair to the black drivers that may drive safe. I just dont get why I am charged way more than what a girl gets charged, even though I am a very safe driver. Thanks peedlepup for the assumption that i don't do well in school and for telling me to try harder. I'm in the top 10% of my school and the top 1% of the state. Commended on all 4 TAKS tests. But maybe if I try harder I can earn that impossible 3.0 GPA to get a deductible...I have a 4.1, and my average is above 100 due to AP classes. So assuming that I qualify as a good student, how much would this deductible be for?Answer: Insurance companies don't have the time or ability to assess the risk of every individual driver. They're in the business of selling lots of insurance fast. They must therefore for expediency deal with the trends of large groups. The most prominent and easily discernable factors for assessing risk of accident are age and gender. There's a noticeable difference in risk between male and female drivers. It wouldn't be fair to the female drives to charge them a higher premium and you a lower premium. You will be rewarded however for maintaining a safe driving record with lower premiums as they begin to recognize you as a safe male individual. ![]() Why should men care if women get paid LESS, if they don't give a DAMN about unreasonable car insurance for men?Question: The whole argument with women when asked about how they feel about male car insurance: "too bad" "that's just how it is, deal with it" "men are irresponsible" "who cares not my problem" "statistics say most men can't drive as safely as women" So why should I care if women are getting paid less for the SAME job a man is doing since: Women are usually less productive than men Women want to be flirtatious in the workplace Women are always suing for sexual harassment Women have to call off to have kids or take care of kids. And I could just use all of the above: "too bad" "that's just how it is, deal with it" "women are irresponsible" "who cares not my problem" "statistics say most women can't work as efficiently as men" Since the insurance companies “feel†men are irresponsible based on statistics. Then men who have seen women consistently under perform ,compared to men, should just pay women less for the SAME amount of work. BTW the “women pay more for health insurance†argument is old and tired. The Male vs. Female health insurance gap is no where near as big as the male vs. female car insurance gap. @ I Enjoy: I'm glad you don't care about my "whining" Because I don't care about you're problems associated with you being a woman: pms, sexual harassment cat calls. I'm a man so It's not my problem right? Tristan: Ok sounds reasonable.Answer: Good point. I'm still an advocate of womens' rights though since not all women feel that way. ![]() |
