register car no license

can i register my car with no license and no insurance?

Question: I had tickets that I couldn't pay so they suspended my license. Because of the license suspension I was dropped from my insurance. I need to register my car, but will they allow me to without license or insurance? If not, what should I do? If I can't register, what should I do in the meantime until I can get everything settled? Does it cost more to insure the car after the due date?

Answer: Only in your dreams. The only way around this is to pay the tickets. Or move out of country. Your driving record is available nationwide to other state's DMVs. So, moving to another state won't work.

Can you register a car with a suspended license and no insurance in Washington state?

Question: I need to get an sr22 before i can get my license back...but i also need to register the car as soon as possible or else my parents will sell my car... Can i just register my car without those? oh oh and if you know where i can get a cheap sr22, that'll help. THANKS!!!

Answer: In short form NO. The stumbling block is the insurance. No insurance, no registration tags. You can generally get what is called a non-operational status which means there are no registration penalties accumulating, but it does not let you drive or operate or even park it on the public roads. Ever since the insurance companies linked their info to the State, insurance can be quickly verified so.. no insurance.. no tags... sorry. However.. having a license has nothing to do with getting insurance. Get the car insured with your parents as the legal drivers. (or perhaps someone else)... then change the insurance once you reclaim your license. presto.. problem solved
